This is a picuture of me that was taken several years ago when i volunteered at Felbrigg Hall. I was one of Santa's Little Helpers. I dressed up as an Elf to meet and greet many children before they paid a visit to Father Christmas in his 'Orangery' Grotto.
I have done many, many years of volunteer work even though i also have to work as well. I managed to fit it in somehow.
The rewards are endless. Working for free is one of the most satisfying things I have done in my life. A very different feeling it is to work for no money, to do it just because you want to, because you have a passion for the charity to you work for and an over whelming need to play your part in preserving our heritage.
A small part to play, but the feeling of great satisfaction that you receive by volunteer work far out weighs the time that is given.
