Moon struck

The moon as I have never seen it before with one quarter lit up so bright and the rest in the shadow. It looks like an acorn beautiful.

Lolulou, Your shot I found quite fascinating and wondered how on earth(no pun) did you acheive it. So being a big head that I am I went to a web site and this is what I found:
First use a tripod
second have a lense at least 300mm
third: take of any UV filter
Go into aperture priority mode "A"
make focus F7
ISO to 400
Aim at moon,press shutter half way down
Now go into manual increase shutter spead up to 1/800

Or blow the lot, just shoot it!!

Excellent. I love shooting the moon. Both your shots are cool, the first because it shows effectively how bright the new moon has been, and the second showing the texture and colour of the moon itself.
