Middy Country Railway Gala

I took my Grandson to the Middy Country Railway Gala .We had a great day at this friendly more intimate railway with the main crowds having been on Saturday we could enjoy everything close up.The chap on the hand plough was really going some, digging a deeper furrow than some of the tractors with his plough powered by a 600 cc Norton engine! There was a diesel and three steam engines going as well as a road roller, traction engine and steam lorry. There was also a Beer Festival with local ales.

Thank you Peter, I tried to capture the effort it took to tame this machine despite how fit the chap obviously is. I said to him that he would be walking wonky for a week after having one foot on top and one in the furrow as he fuelled up this mighty machine which backfired like a bird scarer as he brought it to a halt, oh and fuelled himself with some tea from his flask. It took some fighting to keep it in a straight line but he did a grand job to his credit and as you say, will have slept well that night.

I Like this shot -- the old boys who used these all day earned there tea and slept well at nights - no air conditioned cabs and radio 2 -Nice one Peter
