The D-Day anniversary F-15 at Lakenheath.
reportTaxiing out early on a Friday morning, the first of the three Lakenheath based F-15s to receive a anniversary paint scheme for the 75th anniversary of D-Day. This represents the markings worn by the P-47s flown by the then 48th Fighter-Bomber Group. Aircraft 97-0219 was amongst a flight departing for an exercise in Spain so unfortunately did not come back.
